Revd. Brian Casey is on sabbatical at the moment and not engaged in active ministry for the time being.Brian has been a Parish Minister in the Church of Scotland for a number of years.
Ordained in 2014 by the Moderator of Glasgow Presbytery, Brian was a Police Officer for 10 years in Surrey and Strathclyde and then retired on health grounds. He went to the University of Glasgow where he obtained an MA (Honours) in French with educational psychology and then worked as a stock broker and financial adviser for a short time.
When he accepted his call to ministry, Brian went back to university
and obtained a BD with distinction from Trinity College, Glasgow and
further study in grief counselling. He has served as Parish Minister at
Springburn Parish Church in Glasgow from 2014 to the present.
Also: Brian serves as UK National Chaplain of the 'Thin Blue Line'
Police Charity and is a Civic Mediator & Restorative Justice
Practitioner. He has considerable experience and expertise in community
justice, working with offending teens and those with addiction and is a Recovery
Advocate. He is also a union Branch Representative for Unite the Union (Faith Workers Branch).Somebody once commented: "Brian's work extends far out-with the Church building, he's part of the fabric of the community, he's in the hearts and minds of many, he supports and comforts many and he's a beacon of compassion, care and hope. He's literally helped us to put food on other people's tables".
Brian's ministry is focussed on people rather than buildings and he incardinated into the Old Catholic Apostolic Church (OCAC) at Easter 2025 to continue his ministry. Revd. Casey is on sabbatical at the moment and he will take up active ministry in OCAC in the near future.
Rev Brian Casey is a wedding celebrant, and also takes funerals, Christenings or other life event services as requested.
