Fr Jayalath has been serving God in Sri Lanka for 18 years.  He was not a Christian by birth but a person who accepted God through Christ as he got older.  Initially, he served in a free assembly and then later for the Believers Eastern Orthodox Church for 6 years.  For personal reasons he left that church and began to conduct his own liturgical services in the ways he was familiar with.  There were 11 believers with him and now there are 95 members of the church.  In addition there are four priests who serve God in various parts of Sri Lanka in this work: they serve God in Hambantota in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka; Matara, Kandy in the Central Province and Kilinochchi in the Northern Province.  Fr Jayalath is based in Kurunegala in the North Western Province.  Father Jayalath is currently working as a pioneer for Sri Lanka and reports directly to the Patriarch.
