Clergy Licencing
Clergy
of the Old
Catholic Apostolic Church for the most part serve as part-time and
unpaid (non-stipended) and are dispersed throughout the dioceses and
nations. That makes the church a voluntary organisation, and indeed by
the church constitution we are forbidden to receive or give money.
However, in order to ensure standards and discipline - particularly
around safeguarding, the church 'licences' clergy. The licence allows monitoring of ministerial activity, and appropriate direction to prevent the clergy person being engaged in a ministry that might be inappropriate due to past history for example, or lack of experience in a certain, or a set of situations, or when there is a need for additional training or oversight.
Clergy Inactive at this time.
This person:
- Has chosen to be inactive from public facing ministry for the time being. This may be due to Sabbatical, or health reasons, or family reasons.
- There are no implications in their status and they can resume ministry at any time, but they will notify the church before they undertake any public ministry.
The licencing status of each clergy member can be checked by clicking the logo at the bottom of their directory page on this website. Only the status on this website can be used to ensure their validity.
